“This is it. This is what it’s all about.”

It only took a few minutes for Jean to express those words as we approached her play pen of happiness and puppies.  In all seriousness, the work she’s built up…the mission…the philosophy…it all became that much more clear when we saw those dogs.

How well-behaved.  How happy.  How curious.  How social.  Were they just intrigued by the passer bys, such as us, who watched the playfulness of each dog?  Were they just glad to be roaming around in a different venue?  Was it a good day to be a dog?  Were they happy to be alive?

I know that we were happy that they were alive.  It was a good day to be a dog lover, that much was clear.

This past Sunday, our MBA group proudly presented Jean with a check of proceeds so far from our efforts — $2,500.00.

It’s surreal to think about how we were able to pull this together.  Incredibly, we were reminded in our last class how the purpose of the project was to treat our ideas as we would a start up.  Considering “affordable loss” and the risks involved with promoting a project or business venture…finding a product that fits a customer need.

We love the community that we’ve found through partnering through Forever Home Dog Rescue (and we love the dogs, too!).  The need we found was never about the treats, per se, but about helping to save a life at the end of the day.  That’s Jean’s purpose.  That’s why she’s so well-known.  And, ultimately, that’s why our treats were bought by you.

That is it.  That is what it’s all about.

The other notable lesson is that all of the groups in our MBA class picked organizations which ended up tugging at our heart strings (in one case, quite literally as that’s what they ended up naming their project).  After our last class weekend, it was clear — none of our groups were willing to let our projects fail.

It’s amazing what you can achieve when your heart and soul are committed to the cause.  Said Jean to us in a recent phone call:

With a few more days before our class and venture end, we still have some hope that ours/Jean’s supporters will help top off our sales efforts.  Treats of both flavors are still available!  Click on the “buy now” button to purchase, or contact Juliana via email to place and/or customize your order.

…and as for the challenge…consider it a done deal 🙂  More to come on putting our money where our mouth is! Trust us…we are happy to follow through on that promise…it’s all for the dogs at the end of the day ❤
